Printed & Stitched Leaf Garland
This work uses journaling as craft to explore nature through a site-specific installation created during a week-long artist/research retreat at The Clearing Folk School in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. Photographs present the installation’s engagement with wind, rocks, branches, and fallen leaves from local trees handprinted onto watercolor paper and handstitched and beaded onto a garland extending over a rocky staircase that leads to a Cliffhouse in the woods.
